Holystar Innovation Center awarded LEED GOLD Certification

The Holystar Shanghai Headquarters Campus occupies a compact 1.78-hectare site and integrates research, high-precision manufacturing, and employee living into a single, walkable setting. Three buildings, including an R&D center, a manufacturing facility, and an on-site dormitory—are arranged around an open garden that buffers workspaces and living areas while creating a community green for informal meetings and daily respite. The campus concept promotes industry–city integration and low-carbon operations, aligning with the sustainability goals of a modern technology enterprise.

Distinctive Green Features

* On-site renewable energy and storage: Building rooftops are extensively equipped with high-efficiency photovoltaic arrays paired with energy-storage systems, supplying clean electricity for campus operations and solar-assisted domestic hot water.

* High-performance lighting & loads: LED fixtures and high-efficiency equipment reduce baseline energy demand and support grid-friendly operation with storage.

* Electromobility readiness: Ample electric-vehicle parking supports low-carbon commuting and last-mile logistics.

* Integrated water strategy: A comprehensive stormwater management approach mitigates site runoff; non-potable water (rain/greywater) is treated and reused for landscape irrigation and toilet flushing.

* Water efficiency: Extensive use of water-saving fixtures reduces potable demand across laboratories, manufacturing areas, and residences.

* Environmentally friendly materials & LCA: Environmentally preferable building materials are specified, and whole-building life-cycle assessment informs design decisions across the buildings’ full life cycle.

Outcomes

LEED Gold Certification is a globally recognized high-level accreditation in the green building rating system, representing international leadership in sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental protection.

By coupling on-site renewables and storage with efficiency measures and an integrated water strategy, the Holystar Shanghai campus lowers its reliance on fossil energy, reduces potable water consumption, and improves stormwater performance at the district scale. The garden-centered layout enhances occupant well-being and productivity, while LEED Gold certification of the Holystar Shanghai Headquarters Innovation Center (2025) underscores the project’s commitment to long-term, resilient, and sustainable development.
